As the ₦25 Million donation by Ketu to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and state governments of Ogun and Lagos State, got discussed across Celestial Sphere (social media platforms celestians are popular with), we noticed a disagreement between the French speaking members of the church and their English counterparts in respect to the donation.

The donation of the amount to the government agency and state governments is to help in the fight against the corona virus pandemic. It was noticed that most anglophone members of the church on Celestial Sphere are against the donation given to the government by Ketu, while most francophone members are in support of the donation.

A study of comments made by the anglophone members shows that they are worried that the church donated money to the government while neglecting church members.

An English speaking prophet, Daramola Olasunkanmi who spoke on the matter said, “Even Oshoffa will not be happy in heaven. . . while people in the churches are hungry and facing a lot in churches, even churches workers and prophets are starving, no food for the needy.” But a francophone member, Céleste Akpache said the donation is in order. “Congratulations to the steering committee of the International Headquarters,” Akpache said.

Another anglophone member, Ralph Awobajo argued that the amount donated should have been shared to members who needed help. “Why are leaders in Celestial like this? Why don't you help your members? Make palliatives for the aged and members that need help, why state government?” Ralph argued. But another francophone member, Tebe Noel wrote “A very good action may God bless the holy seat of (Celestial Church in) Nigeria.”
